“TO MAKE OUR ACTIONS MERITORIOUS,

THEY MUST BE VOLUNTARY” – SAINT JOSEPH OF CALASANZ

“The mission of the Order, through individuals and institutions, is to help young people become aware of the divine gift of vocation, to help them integrate their personal project into God’s plan, and to invite them to respond gratefully and generously as instruments in God’s hands in the Order of Pious Schools…” (FEDE 32).

On 20 July, in the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, the Pious Schools of Mexico experienced with joy and hope the generous response of our brothers in formation who, as every year, reaffirmed before God, the religious community and the people of God their desire to follow the Lord Jesus and serve the Church with our Piarist charism. During the Eucharistic celebration, we witnessed the commitment that our brothers make to accompany them with our prayers. The celebration was presided over by Fr Sergio Fernando Hernández Avilés, the provincial superior, who was accompanied by several Piarist priests from the province, parishioners of the parish, relatives and friends of those in formation.

Beginning of the novitiate.

Henry Martin Rodriguez Lopez began his religious life after a year of rapprochement and was accepted into his novitiate year.

Taking simple vows

After their novitiate year, our brothers took their vows as Piarist religious before our Provincial, Fr Sergio Fernando Hernández Avilés: Juan Sebastián Mora Hortúa from San José de Calasanz and José Luis Montes García from Santísima Trinidad.

Renewal of simple vows

The juniors who have renewed their vows are: Oscar Osvaldo Méndez Méndez of Cristo Rey and Santa María de Guadalupe; Isaías Carreño Martínez of Santísima Trinidad; Guillermo Rodarte Varela of Cristo; Isaac Rabin Meza Mendoza of José y María; Alejandro Méndez Pérez of Natividad del Señor; Justino Abdiel Rodríguez Conde of Sagrado Corazón de Jesús; Julen Chávez Guerrero of Espíritu Santo.

It is with great joy that we sit at Jesus’ table at this moment, remembering his invitation to live our lives from the mission of love, to live and serve with generosity before receiving the GIFT. Let us thank God for the generous commitment of our novices, and juniors who, for the edification of the Kingdom of God, place their lives at the service of children and young people through the Piarist charism; we entrust the vocation of our brothers to Mary, Mother of God, and to our Holy Father Joseph Calasanz.

For the greater glory of God and the benefit of others.
