Father General Pedro Aguado, accompanied by the General Assistant for Africa Felicien Mouendji, visited the Piarist presence in Gabon, which is made up of two religious communities, one in Libreville and the other in Malibe, both belonging to the Province of Central Africa.

In both places, each community is responsible for a school and a parish. A deeply calasanctian mission led by eight Piarist priests: one from Gabon, one from Spain and six from Cameroon.

Father General met personally with each religious and there were two community meetings. There was also a meeting with the group of lay piarists from Libreville. Fr General also met with the Archbishop of Libreville, Mgr Jean Patrick Iba-Ba, and met with the Spanish Ambassador at a lunch at the Embassy, where the eight Piarists from Gabon and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature were present. The visit ended with a community concelebration of the Eucharist in which all the Piarists of Gabon were present, celebrating the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.

Fr. Felicien, besides being present at all the meetings, was responsible for the financial visit.
