The Piarist Educators’ Congress 2024, an inspiring and collaborative event for educators within the Piarist network, convened on November 27-29 under the unifying theme: “To Gather, Together, and To Get There.” Held at Calasanz de Davao Academy, the congress brought together educators, school leaders, and stakeholders from Piarist institutions in the Philippines to discuss Calasanzian identity, pedagogy, innovative teaching strategies, protection of children and young people, and reinforce the shared mission of holistic education.

The theme encapsulates the essence of the gathering: fostering community, collaboration, and a collective journey toward the future of education. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in workshops, keynote presentations, and roundtable discussions aimed at enhancing pedagogy, promoting inclusive learning environments, and strengthening the spiritual and academic mission of Piarist schools.

In his opening address, Fr. Arnel Cabangunay, Sch.P., a key figure in the Piarist network, emphasized the importance of unity in addressing modern educational challenges. “To gather is to recognize our shared commitment, to be together is to strengthen our bonds, and to get there is to achieve the vision of nurturing young minds for a brighter tomorrow,” he said.

Participants shared success stories, best practices and traditions, and ideas for addressing global issues such as digital transformation in education and fostering intercultural understanding. The congress also highlighted the role of faith-based education in inspiring students to become compassionate and socially responsible leaders.

The Piarist Teachers Congress 2024 concluded with a renewed commitment to the network’s mission and a shared vision for future collaboration, ensuring that the journey to transform education continues with purpose and passion rooted in Christ and Calasanz our holy father.
