Last Saturday 25th May, as the Piarist family of Mexico, we gathered to thank our heavenly Mother, Mary of Guadalupe, for her love and care for each one of us who make up the Pious Schools.
The day began and the pilgrims’ trucks were arriving at the appointed time and place. On the Calzada de Guadalupe, familiar faces of all ages were appearing. The Piarist religious, teachers, fraternity members, children, young people, parishioners from the parishes, children from the children’s homes, friends and relatives. We all arrived in an atmosphere of joy and fraternity.
As we walked towards the Plaza Mariana, the secretariat of the Calasanz Movement was encouraging the pilgrims and handing out some holy cards for the occasion. We arrived at the meeting point, the Provincial Father Sergio Fernando Hernandez Aviles welcomed all the participants, thanking you for your time and desire to thank God and the Virgin of Guadalupe for all the gifts received during this year.
The prayer was centred on the invitation of Pope Francis to pray for the formation processes of seminarians, religious men and women throughout the world, especially for our pre-novices, novices and juniors throughout the Order.
At the end of the prayer for Piarist vocations, a souvenir photo was taken and we went to the entrance of the Sanctuary to begin with the Eucharist, presided by the Provincial Father and with the presence of all the Piarist religious priests and formandi who served at the altar.
We give thanks to our good Father God, and to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe for her blessings for our whole family. May her loving intercession continue to watch over all the children, adolescents and young people especially, whom we serve in the Pious Schools, for all our projects and dreams, and watch over the vocation of those who have responded to follow our Lord Jesus from the charism of Piety and Letters.
