Saturday, February 19, 2022, was for the Order of the Pious Schools in general and for the Vicariate of the R. D. Congo in particular, a day of grace and joy, following the ordination to the priesthood of Rev. Gustave Munduyu Tuna Sch. P. Indeed, it was during the Eucharistic celebration held in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Congo, Archdiocese of Kinshasa, that Father Gustave received the second degree of the sacrament of order, through the imposition of hands and the prayer of consecration by Mgr. Crispin Kimbeni, auxiliary Bishop of Kinshasa. The people of God thus witnessed, accompanied in prayer, and celebrated with songs and cries of joy the gift of life of this servant who said: “Here I am Lord, I come to do your will”, and will henceforth offer the pure and holy sacrifice for the salvation of the people of God.

After the mass, congratulations, hugs, photo opportunities, and the laying on of hands of the new priest followed in the courtyard of the cathedral. Then, gathered in the community of the Cavanis Fathers, the Piarist family of Congo offered a banquet to all the families, friends and acquaintances who had come from various parts of the Congolese territory to accompany our brother to the altar of the Lord. From the cathedral to the community, the celebration was beautiful and colorful with dances, animations, gifts, cries of joy and expressions of real happiness that could be read on the faces of all. In short, the Saturday, February 19, 2022, will remain forever engraved in the memory of Father Gustave and the archives of the Vicariate of the R. D. Congo, as a day of grace and joy.
