We are delighted to present the Alumni Manual, translated into the four official languages of the Order. This Manual is the result of the collaborative work of the Alumni team, which began after the last General Chapter, and is intended to be a compass to promote the Alumni project in all our Piarist Demarcations.
In preparing it, we have done a lot of listening, learning and reflecting: What is the purpose of this project? What is our vision? Why is it valuable to start and develop Alumni? etc. It has been very useful for us to learn about experiences both within the Pious Schools and in other entities that have inspired us. But above all, we wanted it to be a novel project with an unmistakable Piarist stamp.
There are three terms that sum up the purpose of Alumni in the Pious Schools well; they are its identifying features.
- Commitment.
This Manual will be very useful in answering many of the questions that arise when discussing the Alumni project. Werecommend its distribution, reading and analysis by the most strategic teams in the Demarcations: Provincial Congregations, Presence Teams, Alumni Managers and Management Teams of educational institutions.
Obviously, each Piarist Demarcation is the main recipient and driving force behind this project in the Pious Schools, assessing the specific reality from which it starts and drawing up an appropriate roadmap to promote it step by step. Ourdesire and ambition are clear: to build a global network of Alumni that adds to our Piarist mission and life throughout the world.
