We celebrate Christmas, the birth of the Son of God in a poor child, on the outskirts of Bethlehem. Without a doubt, Christmas is an absolutely surprising, unexpected announcement: God becomes one of us, shares our condition, and brings our life to the full; in Jesus, we are all children of God (Jn 1:12).
In a world like ours, so much in need of good news, Christians are bearers of the best of all: God has camped among us, he walks with us, he is with us.
For this reason, we celebrate with deep joy the Christmas night song: “Glory to God in heaven and peace on earth”. Yes, the child who is born is the “prince of peace” (Is 9:6).
Let us celebrate this child in our families, in our homes, in our schools. Let us embrace it in our communities, let us announce it in our groups and processes. Let us listen to the message of peace in the midst of the difficulties of so many peoples in whom this desire seems unattainable. Let us ask him, who is the prince of peace, to enable us to build peace with him. Let us make our Pious Schools a space filled with the joy of these days. Let us build a Church that can credibly proclaim the message of Christmas. And, above all, let us adore this child from the bottom of our hearts, recognizing in his littleness the goodness of God, his presence in our midst.
We wish you all the best in this celebration of Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The General Congregation of the Order of Pious Schools
