Today we voted on the rest of the propositions and proposals and resumed the work by groups of the Chapter Nuclei. At the end of the day, the young people who are joining the Chapter work this last week were welcomed by the Chapter Assistants.

This morning’s Eucharist, organised by the Province of Central Africa, was presided over by Fr Evaristus Akem Ndi. At the beginning of the celebration, Fr Provincial offered the celebration for the children all over the world who suffer all kinds of abuses (sexual, psychological, physical), forced to work, separated from their families…

During the morning, in the Chapter Assembly, the voting on the pending propositions and proposals was resumed. The work was intense and the Chapter Members had some time to relax, some of them taking a walk, chatting or playing sports.

In the afternoon, the work of the Chapter Groups was resumed in order to incorporate the contributions made by the Chapter Fathers during the presentations of the previous days. In the last session of the afternoon, the young people who were invited by the General Congregation to participate in these days were introduced. The Chapter turned emotive when the young people introduced themselves, sharing their responsibility (and nerves) to participate in the Chapter Assembly. John Michael from Asia Pacific; Jorge and Genesis from USA-Puerto Rico; Pablo and Juan from Mexico; Placide from West Africa; Roland from Hungary; Trinidad from Chile; Jeremias from Argentina; Guilherme from Brazil. This sharing highlighted the responsibility of being spokesmen for a whole generation, of representing thousands of young people linked to the Pious Schools. The Chapter Members invited them to be open to the Spirit, to participate without fear and with a constructive mentality. “To make the Pious Schools more faithful to Calasanz, more capable of life, that is what we need from you, the young people”, exhorted Father General.
