Freshly breakfasted some, and other lunched, we begin the second day of the Assembly.  Central America and the Caribbean set the prayer that begins the encounter and puts us in orbit of what is to come.

Javier Aguirregabiria has been in charge of opening the afternoon, and with a beautiful and very visual image of motherhood has been sharing with the attendees “Three looks of the walk of fraternity”. The powerful image of the Order of the PPSS as a mother and fraternity as a daughter has been very suggestive and the common thread throughout the intervention. PPSS have been coming to life since Calasanz began its journey, more than 400 years of life given to the Church and to the world at the hands of so many religious and lay people.

The Fraternity is one of its most recent births, after a long process of gestation, it is born and grows gradually in the different places. As Javier said, motherhood changes the lives of parents and children, the former give life and put everything at the service of children and these transform the lives of parents. We are already an “we.” Each with specific calls, but with a nice open path to share.

The Fraternity is called to be born where it does not yet exist, to let ourselves be cared for in its beginnings, to grow, and to be an adult, faithful and autonomous, so that together with the Order we open a horizon of co-responsibility, to complement our vocations, to promote Calasanz’ dream, letting the Spirit speak and knowing that every new life is God’s gift.

It is a sign of the times this reality in the PPSS, is a gift to the Order, for many reasons: because of the vocational enrichment it entails, because we complement and grow together, spiritually and in everyday life, because together we have more resources, religious life is a treasure for fraternity, we put synodality into practice… What call to follow in the struggle, to hope and to a shared path open to life!

At the second session of the afternoon, the Council of the General Fraternity has set its sights on this finished six-year period (which for pandemic reasons has been lengthened a little) and took stock of the path taken.  Seeing how the Fraternity was born in different places (Nazareth, Slovakia, and Hungary) and has continued to grow where it already existed is very hopeful.

The thanks to Alberto, Javier, Izabel, Tere and Guille has been unanimous on the part of all present, 6 years of generosity, of service to grow this beautiful girl.

In today’s afternoon we traveled to Nazareth and Slovakia to learn more about some experiences lived in fraternity paths.
